Greetings, Capital District Kiwanis members –
The Capital District Kiwanis Foundation is hard at work ensuring that we have another successful year assisting our communities, clubs, and local pediatric trauma hospitals. Our work would not be possible without the generous support of you and your clubs. We thank you!
This year, the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation aims to strengthen its publicity and marketing approach to create a more cohesive and streamlined appearance. This will be achieved by working towards the following three goals:
- To increase each Kiwanis member’s understanding of the Foundation, its directors and officer team, and its supported projects.
- To develop an interest from members and citizens in donating to the Foundation’s projects and causes
- To communicate upcoming event dates and deadlines to Kiwanis members and clubs
Therefore, as we aim to increase each Kiwanis member’s understanding of the Foundation, we will be sending one message per quarter to you, detailing the most important up-and-coming efforts of the Board.
As we find ourselves amid the season for gratitude and giving, your divisional Directors encourage you to assist the Foundation on #GivingTuesday. Giving Tuesday is held annually the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and encourages citizens to give back to non-profit organizations. This year, the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation is fundraising to support our nine pediatric trauma centers throughout Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, DC. Facebook is again matching donations starting at 8:00 a.m. (EST). Mark your calendar and help us reach our $2,000 goal! Any gift of any size makes a difference.
If you recently made a donation to the Foundation, we invite you to send us a video sharing the personal reasons why you gave back philanthropically. We will be posting these donor stories on our Facebook page to promote #GivingTuesday. Every act of giving has a story. What’s yours? Please send your recorded story to the Foundation at: [email protected]

The Capital District Kiwanis Foundation appreciates your support. The Board looks forward to working hard this year to engage every club and every member in fundraising to positively impact citizens throughout our district in the name of Kiwanis!

Why donate to the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation?
Many donors do it for altruism. Donors are driven by a genuine concern and compassion for children who are less fortunate. There are many communities in the Capital District lacking in proper health care, food, clothing, safe playground equipment, and libraries for children. The Foundation supports clubs providing services to children.
