What are you doing today to take advantage of your Sunday while resting up for the week ahead? Not everyone has the same opportunity for rest and relaxation on the weekend, as many families with children who have suffered pediatric trauma are anxiously anticipating what this week will hold.
One of the nine pediatric trauma centers that the Foundation sponsors is The Children's Inn at NIH / @thechildrensinn. Many families travel here on Sundays to spend the week, as their children participate in medical trials which are often the last option for treatment. The Children's Inn provides a space to stay, meals, and comfort away from home. We are very happy to support them annually as the different they make is invaluable!
We are able to support the Children's Inn with an annual $3,000 donation, which is possible through our annual Ducky Derby raffle! Have you purchased your ticket yet? It only takes 1 ticket in the drum to win, but you have to participate to have a chance.
Spring Grant Funding Spotlight: The Kiwanis Club of Alexandria (Kiwanis Alexandria, Kiwanis Club of Alexandria) was awarded $5,000 to execute a yearlong campaign. They will be raising $50,000 for Alexandria's Childcare Professionals culminating in a Kiwanis Club hosted event in September 2022. At that time, COVID-19 Childcare Hero Grants will be presented to approximately 200 operating childcare centers, which employ over 1,500 professionals, and serve thousands of children from the community.
We are very excited to support 7 Kiwanis Clubs through our spring grant funding cycle totaling $21,000! Look for grant spotlights over the next few weeks as we share what each club will be using the money for.
